Lilia Reis
Couple and Family Therapist and Counsellor
Lilia Reis is a qualified Counsellor with a strong interest in supporting individuals and couples to strengthen connection, improve communication, and navigate periods of change, conflict, or uncertainty within their relationships.
Lilia works with couples who may feel stuck in unhelpful patterns, overwhelmed by life stressors, or unsure how to reconnect with one another. Her approach is warm, practical, and collaborative, providing a safe space for couples to better understand themselves and each other, explore underlying dynamics, and work toward meaningful and sustainable change. She does not take a one-size-fits-all approach, instead tailoring therapy to each couple’s unique needs, values, and goals.
Lilia holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Psychology), a Graduate Certificate in Safe Communities and Child Protection, and a Graduate Diploma in Counselling. She has been working as a counsellor for the past year with both individuals and couples, and brings with her a wealth of broader experience gained through years of work across mental health, trauma, family violence, and child protection settings.
Having worked in a range of multicultural environments, Lilia is highly attuned to the ways culture, family systems, and lived experience shape relationship dynamics, communication styles, and expectations within partnerships. She recognises the complexity of intimate relationships and supports couples to navigate differences with greater awareness, empathy, and respect.
Lilia draws on evidence-based approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and Compassion Focused Therapy. Her work is trauma informed and grounded in creating emotional safety, trust, and collaboration. Couples often describe her style as grounded, empathetic, and genuine, someone who helps them feel safe to be honest while gently guiding difficult conversations and growth.
Counselling with Lilia offers a confidential, non-judgemental space for couples to pause, reflect, and begin to reconnect.
